Overview

Aerom Latan is a Shadow Fey Dragon — the child husband of the Mother of Monsters, dispatched by her to the South Forest ~3200 AR as a permanent anchor of her presence in the region. He manifests in many forms, but is always recognizable by one detail: flowers grow across his body regardless of the shape he wears.

He is not a true elemental spirit. Most cult documentation that predates the sealing misidentifies him as a high elemental power — a misclassification the Mother of Monsters never corrected.

Purpose

His placement in the South Forest was strategic and deliberate, timed to coincide with the Peace of Terenei (3200 AR) when the continent's attention was fixed on the peace talks. While civilization celebrated stability, the Mother dispatched her child husband to build a permanent foothold.

The Temple of Primordial Evil near Xas was built as his home — not primarily a place of worship, but a residence. The cult that grew around it was the Mother's design: a religion built to sustain and protect Aerom's presence while seeding her influence in the surrounding communities.

Once per year on Allbirth (the 31st of the tenth month), the gate at Level 4 of the temple opened — allowing Aerom to commune with the Mother of Monsters. Their union during Allbirth was held to generate the next year's generation of monsters.

The Sealing (~4504 AR)

When Prince Eltram drove his armies into the temple complex, Aerom Latan was contained at Level 3. The sealing was absolute — both Eltram and Aerom are sealed together, neither able to leave without the compact being voided.

If the seal breaks: the divine compact is void, Eltram walks free, and Aerom Latan is no longer contained.

Cross-World Significance

GM Note: Aerom Latan is the manifestation in Zoratha of the same spirit that appeared on Saphine as part of Natalia Morea — a combined dryad and visitor from Gamma World. The same entity, expressed differently across mirror universes. See Cosmology for context.
