Sandstone Harbor

Overview

Sandstone Harbor is the capital of Theodor Crane's usurper Ulek Empire — a rump state occupying a small region of the south. It is a farmer's vision of empire: organized around production, heavy taxation, and conscription. Trade and culture are secondary to output and control.

Theodor Crane

A corrupt noble from a wealthy farming family that rose to prominence by supplying armies across the south. Crane leveraged that wealth and influence to force the Church of the Keymaster in Sandstone to crown him emperor — granting religious legitimacy to what is fundamentally a power grab. He is not a military genius or a visionary; he is an opportunist who moved when the empire's collapse created a vacuum.

He holds territory from Sandstone Harbor north toward Prince Eltram Landing — a city he has never attempted to conquer, either from political calculation or simple caution.

Current State (4724–4725)

Stable under Crane's grip. The city produces, taxes, and conscripts efficiently. Citizens are not free but are fed. The approaching dark orc threat from the south — staging through Lighthouse Island — is something neither Crane nor his government is prepared for.
